One of the biggest costs any seller may face comes in the form of remodeling, which may be helpful in adding appeal to a home, or repairs that may be needed to get the home through an inspection. If your home is fully renovated, and everything else is shipshape, that may be a major sign it’s time to sell! Not only will your home attract buyers, but your out-of-pocket selling costs could be reduced considerably.
You have positive equity
Of course, it’s important that selling makes financial sense to you! If you have positive equity on your home, meaning you’ve paid off enough of your mortgage where you would more than break even on the sale, it may be a good time to sell! You can use any profit from the sale on a down payment on your next home.
You're running out of space
Now here’s a good reason to sell: You just don’t have enough room! Whether it’s because of a growing family or a change in the way you use your home, needing more space is a very common reason to sell and move on to something bigger. Your lifestyle is changing
Sometimes you might want to sell for quite the opposite reason.
