COVID-19, or Coronavirus, has affected many of us emotionally, mentally, physically but also – financially. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued flexibility to taxpayers during this crisis by extending their filing and tax payment deadline for individuals and businesses to next Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
Of course, this crisis is ongoing, and filing or paying taxes might be a hardship for some households. If you need an extension on your taxes, you can request one at no cost by using the IRS’s Free File tool. Payment is easy and can be completed electronically; you can learn more about how to file and pay before the July 15 deadline here.
