Can Feng Shui help sell a house?
If you are planning to sell your house, consider using the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui to help keep your property from sitting on the market. While I am not an expert on Feng Shui there are some common easy tips to get started. Try these Feng Shui tips to make your home look and feel great to prospective buyers:
Clear Out Your Clutter.
Clutter clearing is a time-and-energy-consuming process that will feel like therapy, and will help you "lighten up the load," so to speak. Get rid of everything you do not love in your house. Do not skip this step, as it is an essential one in creating harmonious house Feng Shui energy.
Check the flow of Chi in your home.
Does the energy flow freely to all the areas of your home? Good traffic flow isn't just for parties. Buyers want that in their everyday lives too. Get rid of excess furniture and anything that clutters up the space.
Turn furniture so that it faces the doorway to create an inviting atmosphere. Also try to group chairs in pairs, perhaps sharing a small table, to create a space where people can talk and sit.
Clear the Air.
You will need Chi, good Feng Shui energy, in your home. Open the windows often, introduce Feng Shui air-purifying plants or use an air purifier. Allow as much natural light as possible into your home, and consider using full-spectrum lights.
Wealth and Abundance.
Water is an ancient symbol of abundance in all cultures, not only in Feng Shui, but you don't want to leave any toilet lids up or have water in the sink. Place a small tabletop water fountain either at the entrance or in the back left corner of the home, which is known as the wealth corner. If a fountain will not work in your space or you are just not comfortable with the idea, you can use images of flowing water such as waterfalls, rivers, etc.
Another welcoming touch is to have thriving plants and flowers in the corners of rooms.
