Best Twin Cities New Years Eve 2016 Events
Looking for that one last hurrah of 2016? There are daytime and evening events all over the metro on Saturday (and into Sunday)! Below area a few to consider and if you know of an AWESOME event I am missing please message me! Share your fun times with a hashtag- #NYE2016!

Family New Year's Eve Events:
NOTE - Many of these events are DAYTIME events so get there early and celebrate... then you may be able to also sneak out of an adult event in the evening!
- Create your own family tradition. I am putting this one first because it's the easiest and will fit anyone's budget. Movies, balloons, games food, make photo albums - do what your family thinks is fun and special! (Growing up, we got to build our own ice cream sundaes with ALL the fixings and we were allow to stay up late to watch the ball drop... if we could make it that long.)
- Mall of America (MOA)
- Crayola Experience: Mid-day countdowns, free popcorn and a chance to win an annual pass every hour.
- Moonlight Circus at Nickelodeon Universe on New Year’s Eve. Enjoy performances by Xelias Aerial Arts Studio including contortion, juggling, unicycle, aerial fabric and more.
- Edina - Edinborough’s annual New Year’s Eve party! Kids can dance to a DJ, get their face painted and revel in a boat-ful of balloons when they drop. Adventure Peak, across the hall from the Great Hall, will be open as well, so kids can climb until their hearts’ content.
- Shoreview Community Center Family New Year's Eve Party - face painting, crafts, carnival games, and a balloon drop.
- Bowling. Events vary by location - too many to list!
- Hennepin History Museum,Minneapolis - multi-generational games and partake in some crafts.
- Afton Alps Live music, Hillside fireworks, Bonfire, food specials. (Check out other ski hills too!)
- Como Park Zoo and Conservatory has free family-friendly entertainment Saturday and Sunday. Games, dancing and music from the DJs of Kidsdance plus noise-maker making, zookeeper talks, giveaways, contests and a countdown to noon, when hundreds of beach balls are dropped from the ceiling.
- New Year’s Eve home Minnesota Wild game - TICKETS ARE NOT CHEAP.
- Sledding! Snowshoeing!
- Maple Grove Dave and Busters -They have two packages available, both of which include an appetizer buffet, dessert, soft drinks, Power Cards and a video ball drop to welcome in 2016 (a bit early). The second package offers additional unlimited video game play.
- Drive around and get one last look at Holiday lights before they all come down
- Minnesota Children’s Museum (St. Paul and Rochester locations will host celebrations)
- Skating at Depot Ice Rink in Mpls 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m
Adult Only New Year's Eve Events:
- Polar Dash at Harriet Island Regional Park on Sunday. All adults get a fleece, medal and post race hot chocolate.
- White Bear Lake - New Year's Eve Celebration at the White Bear Country Inn & Rudy's Redeye Grill
- The SIX15 Room at the Grand Hotel will be offering specials laden with grapes inspired by the Spanish tradition of eating 12 Grapes on NYE for good luck - one for each stroke of midnight.
- All the casinos are having parties
- St Paul - Lot's of NYE stuff in St Paul!
- New Year’s Eve Dinner show
- New Year’s Eve at Cook’s
- The Saint Paul Hotel. Minnesota's landmark hotel will celebrate the new year with A Tribute to Sinatra.
- Surly Brewing Co. Surly is doing a pre-party tapping of five specialty cask beers at 11 a.m. and "Your Last Glass of 2016" at the Brewer's Table, a five-course experience at $125 per person.
- Mancini’s. Dance the night away in this traditional, family-owned Italian spot. Band Midas Touch begins playing a set at 8 p.m.
- Vieux Carre. Saint Paul's downtown jazz lounge NYE dinner show
- Camp Bar. Camp Bar will be having NYE bingo hosted by Rosie Lavon at 10 p.m.
